1. GWNIC Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy Workshop

JUNE 10 - 14 | 9 AM - 5 PM | SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING HALL

The George Washington University (GW) Nanofabrication and Imaging Center (GWNIC) presents a five-day correlative microscopy workshop, emphasizing biological samples. Some topics covered include state-of-the-art instrumentation, using complex modern microscopes with multiple modalities, 3D electron microscopy, and managing large numbers of images. 2. 2019 NCI and Frederick National Laboratory Technology Showcase

JUNE 12 | 12 PM - 5 PM | FNLCR Advanced Technology Research Facility, Frederick, MD

The 2019 Technology Showcase will again highlight technologies being developed at the NCI and Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR) to encourage startup company formation, technology licensing and collaborations. The keynote speaker is Rich Bendis, President and CEO of BioHealth Innovation, Inc. and there were be panels on attracting investment in addition to the technology showcase. Registration is required. For more information and to register, see here.

3. Career Day

OVPR is holding a career day on June 12th. Several of the talks may be pertinent to postdocs. Unfortunately, we do not have details to give you right now, but we will update you when we get them! RSVP information also coming soon.

4. Insights into the Technology Transfer Career

5. R-Based Reproducible Research Techniques for Synthesis

The research landscape is changing. Researchers are increasingly engaging in collaboration across networks; open science includes not just open publication but also open data, software, and workflows; and technology is evolving in support of this new paradigm. This five-day workshop is designed to help researchers stay abreast of current best practices and initiatives and get started on acquiring good data science skills to maximize their productivity, share their data with the scientific community effectively and efficiently, and benefit from the re-use of their data by others.
